Black out, here it comes again.
Lights out, through the falling glitter dark descends.
Heart beat, why do you fail me now.
In the night streets, wailing sirens out.
And I just want to go to bed, lie down and rest my head. We ran all night we ran all day, hold me close while we, run away.
Close your eyes, sleepwalker.
Say goodnight, sleepwalker.
You’ll be fine, lie next to me.
In good time, sleepwalker.
Dumb struck, struck dumb by the stupid things you done.
You dumb fuck. Hold my hand now I’m not the only one.
I take his hand between my legs and I think that I might die. Maybe we could roll around for a while. Don’t tell me any lies.
Close your eyes, sleepwalker.
Say goodnight, sleepwalker.
You’ll be fine, lie next to me.
In good time, sleepwalker.
Violence, in the city tonight, in the city. Violence, in the city, tonight in the city,
Violence, in the city, tongiht, pack up your windows,
So the blank space was blank no more. But what now? More nuggets of delight? Sure.
Today is the day for the females. I propose three for your delectation.
The first female act being Kate Tempest.
“Pah!” you might say, “I’ve known about her for years!” Well, that’s good for you, but what about the rest of us, non-knowers? Don’t be so stingy and self righteous I say. Pff.
Aside from the fact that after a flick through the other videos available of her online, I prefer her speaking alone without any, frankly rather pale in comparison musical/rhythmical backing, she is really quite astounding. And this particular performance is really worth a mention.
She delivers a realism with both her words and performance that had me feeling as if I was staring at myself in a mirror.
She stands bare faced, red and puffy, as if belly flopped right onto the stage with a great almighty smack, like a fish having had its last stand slapped across the breast of a stone, looks out at the audience with heavy set eyes and battered voice wheezing and scraping out the the stories of her own personal torments. I got the feeling that she might in fact buckle and shed rage filled tears at any moment as she battles her way through the text.
It is hard to not feel some kind of resonance with her. She stands, yelps, and begs like the living phantom image of yourself in times and moments we might rather choose to forget. Moments of uncompromising vulnerability. Whatever you make of it, I think it is worth a listen and a look-see. Click link below.
P.s I recommend ignoring the cheesy introduction by Scroobius Pip.

Second was the female rapper I mentioned from my last post (‘The Beginning’.) Who has subsequently found fame and a large following for her bitch on wheals, teenage “nothing can ever beat me.” attitude. And I like it. As a lover of kiss-off’s to forces of oppression and restriction in all it’s forms. Woooo! Woo?
But I must admit I am less excited than I was about it before. Just as a newly discovered candy sweet tastes just that little less delicious after ‘everyone else’ has discovered it and made it their own. I don’t eat candy sweets anymore, in fact they may not exists as I remember them. But either way, here’s some brand new candy for you to have a good suck on.

Thirdly and finally, a relative was kind enough to buy me a ticket to go and see ‘Murmours’ starring Aurélia Thierrée – Conceived and directed by Victoria Thierrée Chaplin at The Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, London.
If you were wondering about the surname and whether it was in any way a relation (literally) to the master himself, Sir Charlie Chaplin, well, you would be right. They are the daughter and grand daughter of the very man himself. But do not let the infamy of their heritage fool you into believing they could not stand completely alone in their own right. Because they absolutely do.
I had no idea what to expect, as all I had been told prior was, “We’re off to see a play.”. But I feel privileged that I witnessed what turned out to be the most moving piece of theater I have ever seen. I felt like I had been transported through to the very center of my mind. Somewhere between dreams, madness and ‘real life’. Tumbling, laughing, dancing and weeping, my way through buildings, docks, boxes, creatures, monsters and so much more. In fact, it flowed so swiftly, rushing and sweeping about, turning inside and out on itself, I only realized the effect this was all having on me when I found myself in a forest, dancing on a table by moon light, (at one point even dancing on air) having the sweetest moment of gentle relief from all the pain life piles on us, looking into the eyes of a lover and I found myself weeping. For the most part, disbelief, wonder and all over encompassing beauty were the center points for this performance piece. Did i mention, it was AMAZING.
Unfortunately for you guys, it has now finished. But this is all the more reason to follow Aurelia’s progress and pre-book your tickets for any of their future shows if and when we are ever lucky enough for them to be showing again.
Here is a link to Murmours and also Aurelia Thierre’s facebook, not sure if it is an open profile, if it’s not don’t be offended if you get turned away but just encase the link is below anyway and I thought it better to put it than to not.
Till the next time
Over and out.
Huge love

In the beginning there was an empty space. And the over governing boss of this space thought, yes, it must be filled. So this is me, (the boss) beginning to fill it! But what with, the space asked tentatively? Just a little side step into what I see in my world, day to day life, things other people do that effect me, things I admire and a few other things I can’t be bothered to think of right now, said the boss.
But how to start it off? This space is so blank and clear and beautiful. Like my minds nirvana that it lusts after when everything is too jumbled. But no, thought the boss. Lets keep things honest. It can remain just a blank space but then how boring. Life might be a mess at times but it is certainly never dull. Here finishes my introduction. Onto the first piece of interesting stuff for you to oogle.
Last night I went the welcome home party of a friend,artist/fashion student/loud scotswoman, Lois Blamire, who has been away in New York for 3 months working at a fashion agency. This is all neither here nor there tho as fascinating, unusual and electric a person she is, it was what I was shown at the party that I was most interested in! A music video of a new female rap singer. Unfortunately, today I cannot, for the life of me find her!! After spending two hours trawling the web, I give up. I am resigned to the fact that it will have to wait to write about it in another post. But it will be worth the wait as i LOVED it. (Doesn’t happen often to this extent)
So what to show you today? Well, I suppose the last thing that lit my bunson burner was a video by ‘Maria and the Mirrors’. I was blown away when I first watched this and I now live with one of the singers of this band. It is a scrambled, raging, ravaging, feral outcry. Mixing it’s disturbingly equal dose of vehement, uncompromising venum and its violent ecstacy. Maria and the Mirrors most likely will be your ‘Marmite’. You will love it or hate it but it will never be your middle ground. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Click the link below.
